The Sustainable Global Enterprise (SGE) Club — whose mission is to prepare students for purpose-driven careers through networking, education, and institutional support — has had a busy 2012 so far, with a wide range of initiatives planned for the remainder of the spring and fall.Below is an update of ongoing Club activities: ‘Fireside Chats’ – In February, the SGE Club kicked off an intimate speaker series, providing private networking opportunities for MBAs.The Big Red Barn, an old carriage house turned student center, is located in the heart of campus and surrounded by lawns and gardens. The Big Red Barn houses cozycafé with a delicious breakfast and lunch menu.A central place for eating and relaxing, the Big Red Barn hosts more than 200 events per year, including the ever popular T. Enjoy a Belgian waffle and hot specialty coffee for breakfast, a Sicilian Pasta Bake for lunch, or a Freshtake Grab-n-Go salad or packaged kosher dish if you're in a hurry. “And I’m very confident that the barn is going to be here for another 100 years.” Built in 1874 as a carriage house for the A. White House, the barn housed a caretaker’s apartment for several years and was later used for alumni gatherings and as a dining facility. “The biggest thing that everyone has noticed is that the building is painted and has new shingles and copper trim,” said Big Red Barn Manager Kris Corda.We hope you will contribute to help make the Big Red Barn the best space it can be.Thank you to all the students, alumni and staff who have supported us over the past 25 years.
The graduate and professional student center moved there from the former Sage Residence Hall in 1992.
Located in the heart of campus and surrounded by beautiful lawns and gardens, the Barn is a central meeting place for graduate students to eat, relax and socialize.
It is the perfect place for students to meet others outside their field. F (Tell Grads It’s Friday), which attracts over 350 students, staff and post-docs each week.
